I am interested in finding out if the "Woman's Circle of Altadena" still exists. It was started in the Fall of 1907.
I am looking for a forum for discussion with other women and or people in general for some topics that are a little off of main stream. Kind of like the topics expressed on the LA Radio show KPFK.
Can you direct me to any organization that we have here in Altadena that you think I should check out.
Thank you.

Hello...my name is Laura. or Laurie ...I think! I was born in June or July of 1961. My parents lived in the 1000 block of Morada place, in Altadena. Oddly enough the hospital listed on my birth certificate was in Banning, but they say I was not born there! In fact, they say I was first seen there when I was six months old. Life was no picnic for me growing up, and so I search for answers. You may say I am an expert of sorts on Child Abuse, and in fact I have just completed my first book entitled "Broken Wing." Please, if you know of anything that could be helpful, please contact me. I would be interested in any kidnapping stories from that time period, or baby deaths in the month of June or early July. Of course I would be utmost interested in talking to any of their old neighbors, or friends, or enemies... My mothers name was Beverly, my fathers name is Richard (his nickname was Dick).

ESCALON expansion opposed
Escalon School announced plans in late August to increase staff by 395% and increase daily hours to 14.
Local residents supported an expansion in Escalon's parking but disapprove of other planned expansions. They have started a letter writing campaign to avert Escalon's expansion plans.
Altadena currently has the highest percentage of service facilities (like group homes) within the Los Angeles County area. Residents generally oppose any expansion or new service facilities since permitting isn't authorized locally, but rather by the LA County Board of Supervisors.
Altadena's BTC is now OPEN
The Business Technology Center is now open.
Supporters hope the BTC will spin off new high-tech businesses to the local community and create local jobs.
Opponents feel the LA County CDC foolishly spent the USDC Block Grants and should have tried to attract retail businesses.
Opponents have sued claiming the CDC should have tried to attract a supermarket and drug store to the West Altadena area. They point to the fact that NO Altadena residents sit on the 29 member BTC advisory committee.
